Lending Up 15%
PermataBank Net Profit Up 62 %

JAKARTA - PT Bank Permata Tbk ("PermataBank") announced today that its net profit for the first quarter of 2010 was Rp 269 billion, up 62% on the first quarter of 2009.

Revenue increased 27% Year on Year (YoY) as result of growth in both interest income and non operating income. Net interest income grew 35% YoY to reach IDR 782 billion.

During the quarter PermataBank continued to invest in technology and people and as a consequence costs were up 20% YoY.

PermataBank also continued to optimize its intermediary function to support the Indonesian economy. This is reflected in the 15% YoY growth in loans to Rp 41 trillion. Total assets increased 15% YoY to Rp 62 trillion, as at the end of Q1, 2010,  further strengthening PermataBank’s position as one of the top 10 banks in Indonesia by assets.

While growing assets, PermataBank continued to maintain robust lending disciplines. The level of Gross Non Performing Loans (NPL) were down to 4.2% as at 31 March 2010, compared to 5.4% a year before. Net NPL were 1.2% as at end of March 2010, down from 2.6% a year before.

Third party deposits were up 11% YoY to reach Rp 46 trillion as at end of March 2010. Time deposit levels increased by 2% to Rp 26.8 tn, and demand deposits and savings grew 12% and 44% to Rp 9.5 tn and Rp 10.0 tn respectively, helping to improve the CASA ratio to 42% from 37% at the end of Q1, 2009.

PermataBank’s loan to deposit ratio was 86% at the end of the quarter. The Bank’s Capital Adequacy Ratio as at 31 March 2010 was 13.9%, well above Bank Indonesia’s minimum of 8%.
