Corporate Social Responsibility

PermataBank maintains strong commitment to keep enhancing its basic concept of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by involving PermataBankers (the nickname for PermataBank's employees) in various CSR activities as volunteers.

The CSR program was commenced in 2002 under the name "PermataBank Peduli". As the bank continued to strengthen its commitment to CSR program, the name was changed to PermataHati in October 2010.

Such name change represented more than merely a change in the name. A new logo, a new slogan, as well as a new framework were also chosen to provide a more powerful foundation for the bank's CSR activities. The entire transformation was designed based on the survey conducted at the end of 2009 among the bank's stakeholders.

The survey has revealed that the educational support in the form of scholarship was an important element to be focused on by PermataHati activities where getting PermataBankers to participate as volunteers would be the key to the success of CSR activities.

The new PermataHati logo symbolizes PermataBankers' commitment to establish the harmonious relationship with the communities surrounding the bank's operational areas, which will in turn create a better future for them. Meanwhile, the slogan "Senyummu untuk Masa Depan" (translated into "Your Smile for the Future") signifies that each donation made will create a smile for a better future.

PermataHati's activities consists of two major programs: a) education that focuses on various educational enhancement activities, such as human development, educational facilities enhancement, and community empowerment; and b) humanitarian aid that focuses on providing aids for the victims of natural disasters in the nation.

PermataBankers' Involvement as the Key to the Success of PermataHati

PermataHati has made a breakthrough by involving the entire PermataBankers in its activities. Each PermataBanker has a "CSR passport" called "Poin Senyum Passport" that records each activity in which they have taken part. Both individually and as a team, PermataBankers may choose to get involve in the activities as outlined above, which has been designed carefully based on the survey on what are most needed by the beneficiaries. By participating in PermataHati's program, PermataBankers will be entitled to a point that are represented by PermataHati sticker to be stick on their "Poin Senyum Passport". Different activities may give different number of points. The total poin senyum will determine the number of scholarship entitled to be donated by each PermataBanker to the eligible children. For every ten points collected by a PermataBanker in one year, PermataBank will be translated into one scholarship for the underprivileged children in one school academic year.

This means, the more active PermataBankers in CSR activities, the more scholarships will be given to the children, and the more smiles we will see in the future.
